3 WAYS TO HAVE MORE PRODUCTIVE DAYS

If there is one thing that life has made perfectly clear to me, it’s that things don’t get better over time unless you get better over time. I remember being in high school imagining what my adult life would look like. I assumed that with age, I would automatically become a wife, homeowner, and mother, and be financially secure enough to shop and travel whenever my heart desired. However, once I became an adult, I found out that it would be a lot more complex than just staying alive long enough to see my life progress in the order that I envisioned. I realized that it would take an intentional effort from me on a daily basis to create the...

LOVE UNCONDITIONALLY + WIN CONSISTENTLY

“I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.” - Martin Luther King Jr. This quote resonates so much with me. This year, I made the decision to fully commit to giving love and support to others without the expectation of receiving anything in return. Making this decision was necessary for me because the alternative wouldn’t allow me to remain passionate about my pursuing my purpose to empower and unite women. You see, in the past, I have found myself hurt and discouraged on many days when I felt like others did not appreciate what I did for them and didn’t care to reciprocate the love and support I extended to them. Although everything...

Winners Get Tired, But Don’t Quit

Many of the recent conversations I’ve had with friends, coaching clients, and colleagues have been about pushing through difficult and trying seasons, and choosing to keep going when the results don’t seem to match the amount of effort and work they’ve put in. I’ve definitely experienced all of the above so I totally get their frustrations. I have felt like quitting on striving for better and reaching my goals many times throughout my life. However, once I came to understand that struggles, obstacles, and challenges are inevitable no matter how well you plan or how much money you have, I discovered better ways to remain productive and persistent in even the toughest times. I want to share some of my...

Nipsey Hussle: Legacy Goals

As a woman who spends my days working to empower women, I didn’t expect to find myself feeling devastated by the loss of a man that I never met or knew much about. When I was scrolling social media last night and came across a post with the headline, “Nipsey Hussle Has Passed Away After Being Fatally Shot”, I immediately felt sick to my stomach. I couldn’t believe what I was reading and felt hurt enough tear up. Now, I wasn’t his biggest fan nor did I ever listen to his music so part of me was confused about why I felt so strongly about his passing. I mean, as unfortunate as it is, hearing that another black man got...

Winning the Fight For Sisterhood

Can I keep it real, sis? I’m a woman and I love us for real, but too many of us make it difficult for others to genuinely love and support us. This is why I really stress the importance of making sure that we get our minds right and heal completely from past painful and traumatic experiences.  Recently, I really considered giving up on my mission to unite and empower women through Women by Choice because I got tired of dealing with women. Not all women, but enough to skew my perspective on whether fighting for sisterhood and unity among women is still worth my time, energy, and sacrifices. I know that, from the outside looking in, what I do...
