Building With the Right Tribe of Women

As I prepare to travel to Dover, Delaware to deliver the keynote address at the Women’s Wellness and Business Conference this weekend, I am reflecting on all of the things I’ve learned over the years while building and growing Women by Choice. Being asked to speak on the importance of building with the right tribe of women is right on time as I have recently come to fully understand just how important it is. When I started Women by Choice, I had a vision that I naively thought all women would see, appreciate, and be in alignment with. When I talked about Women by Choice, I would say that the network is for all women, not realizing how untrue that was. Believing...

33 Choices Every Woman Should Make

In a few days, I will celebrate my 33rd birthday so I’ve been taking time to reflect over all that I’ve experienced and learned thus far. Perhaps one of the best lessons life has taught me is that my choices are what shape my life. Over the years, I can see how my relationships, health, career, and finances improved as my choices improved. Although every woman has different goals, these are 33 choices I think all women should make to be happier, healthier, and more successful in their lives and careers. The hard truth is, reaching your goals and getting to the next level won’t happen by doing what you’ve always done. Sometimes, you’re going to have to do things you don’t enjoy and go places that aren’t familiar. I have not reached all of my life goals nor am I where I want to...

Different Women, Different Goals

Have you ever seen someone accomplish something and immediately felt like you were failing or doing something wrong because you hadn’t accomplished it yet? Yeah, me too. Admittedly, several times. I really disliked feeling like that so I decided to change it. If there’s one lesson life has taught me, it’s that I have the power to control my emotions and change how I feel about things. If I don’t like something, I no longer sit in it or settle for it. I start exploring where those feelings are stemming from and determine what adjustments I need to make mentally, physically, and/or spiritually to not feel like that anymore. I am an over-achiever. I put a lot of pressure on...

Work For It & Wait On It

Have you ever found yourself in your feelings because you see other people getting opportunities that you are equally or better qualified for? Have you ever felt ignored by people who you know see you, but refuse to acknowledge your skills and talents? Have you felt like you should have definitely been one to receive an invitation to a certain event and are still confused as to why you didn’t? Have you ever felt like you deserve a seat at a specific table, but fear that you won’t ever get it? These last 4 years of my life, since making the choice to step out on faith and walk fully in my purpose, have been both the most challenging and...
