Building With the Right Tribe of Women

As I prepare to travel to Dover, Delaware to deliver the keynote address at the Women’s Wellness and Business Conference this weekend, I am reflecting on all of the things I’ve learned over the years while building and growing Women by Choice. Being asked to speak on the importance of building with the right tribe of women is right on time as I have recently come to fully understand just how important it is. When I started Women by Choice, I had a vision that I naively thought all women would see, appreciate, and be in alignment with. When I talked about Women by Choice, I would say that the network is for all women, not realizing how untrue that was. Believing...

33 Choices Every Woman Should Make

In a few days, I will celebrate my 33rd birthday so I’ve been taking time to reflect over all that I’ve experienced and learned thus far. Perhaps one of the best lessons life has taught me is that my choices are what shape my life. Over the years, I can see how my relationships, health, career, and finances improved as my choices improved. Although every woman has different goals, these are 33 choices I think all women should make to be happier, healthier, and more successful in their lives and careers. Why Social Media Breaks Are Needed

Social media has created a space for us to discover, connect with, and interact with people we likely wouldn’t be able to without it. I am a fan of social media. I have received great opportunities and met great people by being present on social media. Honestly, I have no idea where Women by Choice would be if I had not leveraged social media to gain exposure for our network, events, blog, and pretty much everything we do. However, after using social media consistently for many years, I have learned that taking breaks from it is necessary. As the founder of a global network for women who manages most aspects of our organization and coaches women to be empowered and...

Breaking Generational Curses

Life hasn’t always dealt me the best cards, but I refuse to become a hurt person who hurts people. For as long as I can remember, my family life has been dysfunctional. Raised by a father who pretty much raised himself after losing both of his parents by the age of 14 and a mother whose parents were emotionally unavailable to her, I grew up socially awkward, feeling lonely and misunderstood, unsure of myself, and abandoned at times. While I know now that my parents did the best they could based on their own experiences, I am committed to not allowing the hurt passed down to them from previous generations negatively impact me and potentially affect my future children. As...

The Way to 100K

It all began with one choice...the choice to stop settling for a life of brokenness, chaos, and dysfunction and start taking responsibility for my own happiness and success. In May of 2014, I started a blog, this blog. It wasn’t anything fancy or elaborate, just a space for me to pursue my writing passion and share my messages with anyone interested in reading what I had to say. I wasn’t doing it to earn money or gain popularity, I just wanted to do something purposeful that fulfilled me. Getting out my innermost thoughts and feelings about life and relationships was really more therapeutic for me than anything. I never imagined that it would lead me down a path to discovering...
