Building With the Right Tribe of Women

As I prepare to travel to Dover, Delaware to deliver the keynote address at the Women’s Wellness and Business Conference this weekend, I am reflecting on all of the things I’ve learned over the years while building and growing Women by Choice. Being asked to speak on the importance of building with the right tribe of women is right on time as I have recently come to fully understand just how important it is. When I started Women by Choice, I had a vision that I naively thought all women would see, appreciate, and be in alignment with. When I talked about Women by Choice, I would say that the network is for all women, not realizing how untrue that was. Believing...

The Way to 100K

It all began with one choice...the choice to stop settling for a life of brokenness, chaos, and dysfunction and start taking responsibility for my own happiness and success. In May of 2014, I started a blog, this blog. It wasn’t anything fancy or elaborate, just a space for me to pursue my writing passion and share my messages with anyone interested in reading what I had to say. Different Women, Different Goals

Have you ever seen someone accomplish something and immediately felt like you were failing or doing something wrong because you hadn’t accomplished it yet? Yeah, me too. Admittedly, several times. I really disliked feeling like that so I decided to change it. If there’s one lesson life has taught me, it’s that I have the power to control my emotions and change how I feel about things. If I don’t like something, I no longer sit in it or settle for it. I start exploring where those feelings are stemming from and determine what adjustments I need to make mentally, physically, and/or spiritually to not feel like that anymore. I am an over-achiever. I put a lot of pressure on...

More Money, Still Not Happy

I cringe every time I hear someone say something like, "I don't understand why they're acting like that when they have all that money", as though money is the ultimate key to happiness and solution to all problems. I get how money can seem like everything to those who feel like they don't have enough of it. I can even admit that there have been times in my life when getting money was top on my list of priorities because that was the area where I seemed to be experiencing the most stress and frustration. However, I quickly learned that money does not cure depression, family dysfunction, relationship issues, insecurities, all health problems, and the list goes on. Money can...

Take a Lickin' and Keep on Tickin'

Is it just me or does it seem like as soon as you think you have life all figured out or you set new goals, something inevitably occurs to distract and/or discourage you from continuing to move forward? Thankfully, I fully accepted a few years ago that I won’t always be able to control the circumstances around me, but I can always control how I react to them. One thing about growth is that it is often painful and if you aren’t prepared to be uncomfortable, you likely won’t elevate to the next level. Throughout my journey, life has literally whipped me into shape. My consistent ability to overcome my struggles and obstacles has taught me that I am much...
